We’d like to wish everyone a very happy 2015 and all the best for the coming year. The past few years have seen increasing momentum behind the deployment of microgrids and distributed renewable generation around the world. This growth is expected to accelerate in the coming year and combined with continued technology advances and cost reductions should make 2015 an exciting year for microgrids.
There are of course clouds on the horizon as well. The steep drop in oil prices could potentially change the underlying economics of some projects, continuing financial instability may restrict financing and access to capital and strains on government budgets may cut the support for sector including on the research front and in regards to supporting the implementation of innovative projects.

Overall, we at Gommyr strongly believe in the role that renewable microgrids and distributed generation will have to play in meeting the energy and climate challenges of the planet over the coming decades. We are looking forward to supporting the sector and projects overcome the hurdles to the increasing use and deployment of sustainable localized energy solutions and will share our thoughts and comments through this blog. We’d also love to hear from you so feel free to comment or send us an email.
