Gommyr is recruiting a dynamic and capable francophone electrical engineer to join our small and growing team.  The work will be a combination of remote work and site travel when conditions permit.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing electrical engineering for microgrid projects focused on productive-use, industrial and commercial users. This will include the system design and simulation, evaluation of component and supplier options, and oversight of project implementation. A desire to work on challenging projects involving new technologies in global markets is required.

Your responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities for the implementation of solar-battery and microgrid projects
• Independently manage electrical and system engineering tasks including designs, simulations, component specification, and selection
• Manage and oversee works on-sites including review and oversight of contractors
• Keep informed on market developments and educate team members and clients on new technologies
• Contribute to proposal preparation and business development

Our requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in power systems electrical engineering including solar plants, experience with energy storage a plus
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Strong problem solving, technical, math and science skills
• Strong French written and verbal communication
• Fluent English
